I would highly recommend Heaven and Earth Sanctuary, located in the South of Costa Rica. This is a rare opportunity for your participants to be immersed in nature, whist connecting deeply with themselves and participants at the retreat. My morning ritual was to wake early with the birdlife take a walk within the property, down to the river, go for a cool refreshing dip before joining the other participants for breakfast. Some started on the yoga deck overlooking the river. The training space and accommodation is suited for intimate groups.
This is a retreat space which for many they will have to travel some distance, explore a new culture and be surrounded by new experiences. As a trainer I would have no hesitation to book this venue for any style of retreat, but particularly those looking for deep connections within themselves and working with nature to assist in this process. There are so many additional activities, local waterholes and waterfalls, which all add to the pleasures of this location. It is in fact as if the land itself is healing, magnifying the experience of the retreat itself.
Should your meals be included, you will be delighted by the cuisine and love which goes into the meal choice and preparation.. I can’t wait to come back to this exquisite location.

It seems like I have just returned from a paradise. Heaven and Earth is a magical place located on the banks of Rio Chirripo. The peaceful healing sound of the river is ever present and the views in all directions are magical. Just being in this pristine environment is enough to cleanse the soul. I spent over 2 weeks there in March 2020 while the world was having a panic attack. I was with a group of fellow students on a healing retreat. We were well taken care of by Maritza who runs the property. Treated to 3 amazing meals a day. Some of the produce is grown on the property. There is also fresh goat milk and goat cheese which is the best I’ve ever experienced.
Heaven and Earth Sanctuary is situated in a perfect climate zone. Warm days (30C) and cool nights (15 – 20 C) make this a very comfortable paradise. The lush jungle environment yields beautiful flora and there were very few biting insects if any. Giant iguanas were sighted. They are rare and they run away as soon as they become aware of your presence.
This is the ideal jungle paradise as there are no cumbersome boat rides to take. The air is pristine, the food is phenomenal and the rooms are very comfortable. You can walk to waterfalls along the river or go on nearby mountain treks or just hang out at the river and chill. Heaven and Earth is ideal for private Yoga style retreats or just de-stressing. I am planning on returning as soon as travel bans are lifted. This feels like home.

It feels soothing to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the river rushing by, the grounds are absolutely lush, the yoga platform has stunning views, I’m able to find big rocks to lay out on by the river and calm pools to swim in, and the FOOD... oh my freaking goddess it is THE BEST food I’ve ever had at a retreat center. It nutritious, full of flavor, and always a variety of options. If you’re looking to be nourished from the inside out, this is where you want to be.
